Pie Day with the Master!

Here is the Master Pie Maker in action. My Grandma Mary is the one I try to be like when I make my pies. She would make like 8 pies a day or something for the farm hands growing up, with a wood stove I might add. She makes it look easy, even with arthritic hands. She is amazing and I am so glad she came for Thanksgiving and gave us all a lesson in Pie Making. Love you Grandma Mary!
Here Mary and I are posing will making pies, fun silly Pie Day.

Two of the Best cooks I know, Amazing Mother/Daughter team!

Kristie and Mary really got a lesson on the tricks to good pie crust. Don't work the dough too much.

Making the Pumpkin Pie filling.

Kristie showing us her beautiful berry pie, it looked professional! Isn't it Pretty!

Mary working her pie, yes that is flour on her nose.

Thanksgiving day, banana cream, berry and of course pumpkin, oh and Grandma Mary even made a minced meat pie for Andy. I never have even seen one before, I never tried it, too chicken. But Andy sure liked it. Hope all had a Happy Thanksgiving, sending much love to the sisters wish you could of been there!

This is what the kids did while we made pies, they danced their little bums off to Christmas music.

Ford's 4th Birthday!

This Kid was so excited for his birthday! He was asking when his aunts, uncles and cousins were coming at 10:30am the party is at 6:00. He was convinced they were not coming cause they were taking too long. He was so excited when everyone finally showed up. He helped me decorate his cake with transformers! We had a french fry party with Ford's favorite pop orange and purple. This boy always puts a smile on your face, We love you Ford!

When I asked Ford what he wanted for his birthday he said," a shoot gun". I asked him what else he wanted and he said, "magic cards". He is his father's son! Here is a shoot gun Grandma June got him!

Here he is with his gear on, tool belt with tools from Aunt Kristie and Uncle Ryan! And an awesome nerf gun from Uncle Carson and Aunt Calli. Love the safety glasses!

So much happiness! Love it! He got Magic Cards from Grandma Zan!
Of course he had to go down to the man cave to open his magic cards, who is more excited Adam or Ford?
Adam, Carson and Ford playing magic in the man cave! Ford loving his dad and uncle drooling over his cards.

Easton could not stand the tools all around he held on tight to the hammer and did not let it go all night. Ford was so nice to share his birthday gift.

Another tool lover in the family, Ranger got a hold of one too.

The pretty girls taking a cake break.

This was picture says it all, We love you Ford soooo much. You bring so much happiness to us all. Your smile is so contagious, Love You!

Random Catch Up Photos!

Recent picture of the boys playing in the backyard. They are good friends when Ford isn't pestering Easton!

It was a bountiful harvest this year! I learned so much about canning and making jam, tons a fun and a lot of work. Everything so far tastes delicious.

We found out this year we have a plum tree, and that little stick of a tree produced a ton of plums! So I made a ton of plum jam! And the kids ate a lot of plums, the chickens did too!

I had 9 cucumber plants and so I also figured out how to make crisp dill pickles. Don't they look pretty.

I had zucchini coming out my eyeballs! I really loved the yellow zucchini.

I had a total of 12 tomatoes plants, I have figured out I love the Roma's for canning and salsa. Each new year is an experiment and learning experience, I love it the whole cycle of working the soil, planting the seed, watching it grow, pulling the weeds, watering, picking(kids love it too), harvest, canning/preserving, and then eating and then thinking of what to do next year. Love it!

My row of tomato plants and potatoes beside them.

Can you tell where I took this photo? The kids and I went to the lake with dad the other day and took the family heirloom, the big yella bus. It was fun and of course the kids thought is was fun.

Easton enjoying the ride too.

This is the bodacious corn I planted this year, it was really tasty and then I sold the corn stalks along side the road for decoration and I made an extra $75! It was fun, I love selling things from the roadside!

Can't wait to see all the Halloween festivities, Hope you all are having a great Harvest season!
